Proper saddle fit is one of the most important elements of equine health and performance. Over time, poor saddle fit can trigger behavioral problems, induce physical ailments, and limit equine potential. In addition, equines--like humans--change physically over time. Age, activity type, conditioning level, nutrition, and injury can all affect how a saddle fits an equine back.

EQUImeasure Kits can be used by riders of every discipline and in every stabling situation. All you need to use an EQUImeasure Kit is an oven, oven mitts, and an equine. The insulated package and heating tray allow up to 40 minutes to elapse between removing the warm EQUImeasure sheet from the oven and placing it upon an equine.

To use the EQUImeasure Kit:

1. Brush the equine's back to remove loose hair and dirt.
   
   
2. Place the heating tray containing the EQUImeasure sheet in your oven on low heat (~170 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 15 minutes. The EQUImeasure sheet will become warm and pliable.
   
   
3. Use oven mitts to remove the tray and EQUImeasure sheet from the oven, returning them to the insulated package.
   
   
4. Transport the package to the equine, which should be secured, standing squarely, and facing forward.

1. Remove the EQUImeasure sheet from the package, using the illustrated directions and product graphics to position it across the equine's back.
2. Use both hands to smooth the sheet to the conformation of the equine. Wait 3-5 minutes for the EQUImeasure sheet to cool and become rigid.
   
   Some saddlers may request that you mark additional information on the formed EQUImeasure sheet, such as a horizontal "level" line, the lowest point of your equine's back, or your personal preferences for stirrup and/or rigging placement. Before you use your Kit, ask your saddler if they have additional instructions they'd like you to follow.
   
   
3. Remove the formed EQUImeasure sheet from the equine and affix a label on which you've recorded specific information about that equine.

1. Pre-heat your oven to ~170 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the formed EQUImeasure model on the insulated heating tray on a middle rack in your oven.
   
   
2. After 10 minutes remove the model and tray from the oven and, wearing oven mitts, begin to press the model flat. Return the model and tray to the oven. Repeat this process every few minutes until the model has become a flat sheet.
   Note: The EQUImeasure sheet may have a few wrinkles, especially near the withers, that cannot be completey flattened. This is normal and will not affect product performance.
   
   
3. The EQUImeasure sheet is now ready to be thoroughly heated and re-used.
